[After their discussion yesterday evening, Fayt and Cliff had decided it was only fair to tell Nel the truth about what was going to be waiting for her back in their universe. They'd already promised to stop by the next day, so it should be no surprise for Nel to find the two of them knocking on her door that morning.

What they'd come to discuss, though, is far from a 'how are you settling in?'.]

[She answered her door at the knock, expecting the two men standing in front of her. She should have known that they'd have come sooner or later to tell her whatever it was that they'd failed to share before. A quick look at their serious faces let her know that the time had come.]

Fayt. Cliff. Come in, please. I haven't had time to decorate yet, but make yourselves at home. Do you want something to drink?

Nah, we don't need anything.

[They were friends, people who fought and survived a war together. They didn't need such pleasantries in his book...especially with what they were going to tell her.

If anything, Cliff almost expected her to want a drink afterward. It was some tricky stuff to deal with.]

We actually figured we could have a little chat now that you're mostly settled...just so we can get level.

[She put her hands on her hips and waited as they came into the apartment. With how serious they were being, she wasn't sure she wanted to know.]

I will. [He was the one who knew the most about everything going on first hand, after all. He glances around, looking for a place to sit. It was too bad Nel had just moved in, when a chair would probably be a good idea for this conversation.] This might take a while to explain though. That ok?

[Cliff looked around the sparse room as well, already thinking what Fayt was thinking. It was a pity that this was such a delicate topic, because they could just flop down in the barracks next door otherwise...

There was an option, even if it wasn't ideal.]

You're gonna wanna get comfy for this. We could head back to our place if that's a better idea for you.

[Since her arrival, she had spent a lot of time reading the journal for clues and the guide. It was a little like reading reports back home, so she hadn't really thought about how the rest of her apartment didn't have actual furniture in it, aside from the beds and dressers is in the bedrooms.]

You might be right. If this conversation is going to be as...time consuming as you both have hinted at, it's probably best to be comfortable.

[Cliff must have read his mind, because he was tempted to suggest that himself.] Right. Let's head back then. We've got a couch, at least.

[Great minds and all that. For all of their differences, he and Fayt tended to have similar thoughts and ideas on a few topics. Not having to explain himself with every move was more refreshing than Fayt could imagine...]

It ain't anything too special...[He waved the two of them out the door.] But it's comfy. Just, uh, don't mind the projects.

[Like the little robotic vacuum that he was working on.]

Well, I was planning on having a big dinner in a few days, so if you and Souji want to come over then, I'd be happy to have you teach me how to be more self-sufficient, and I'll give you a large meal that Souji doesn't have to cook.

Of course. I'll gladly make my mother's recipe. Actually, I was thinking about making one tonight for dessert.

What else was she going to do with four bedrooms when it was just the two of them. The fact that she had enough room to have a studio again was a bit of a selling point when she bought the house.

Nel understood that Fayt came from a much smaller house than even this one. She'd seen it. However, she also knew that the moment that either of her siblings showed up that one of the first things they'd mention was the fact that it was so much smaller than their houses. Even four bedrooms was a bit of a luxury in her mind, since it was just the two of them.

But then she remembered that there had been talk of children eventually, so...

When he mentioned work, she had to fight to keep smiling. She hated being idle and housewife wasn't something that Nel Stark-Fittir was ever going to good at doing, unlike Anya.]

No, I can't really think of anything. Unless I get sidetracked by surprise visitors today, I'll have dinner ready when you get home. Although, if you want wine, you'll have to pick that up on your way back.

No, that's fine. No need to interrupt him if he's asleep. I'm sure I'll see him sooner or later. If I remember correctly, this place isn't that large.

But at the same time, there are a lot of differences from what I remember. How long have I been gone?

It's not, and Souji helps out at the Welcome Center. He'll be easy enough to find if you know how to look.

[then again, that could be his own biases talking.]

It's been a few months over a year since you were last here. In that time....[he shrugged.] Well. Lots of stuff happened. Souji and I made things sorta official, for one.

I'll try and find him later then. It couldn't be terribly difficult if it he leaves himself so very open.

[She's looking forward to it in fact.]

Oh? Is that so? Should I be taking him out to pick out wedding dresses?

Then, I think you'll understand when I say that for my world, space travel was something that people only dreamed about until Cliff and Fayt literally fell out of the sky one day.

[She heads into the bathroom, turning back to look at him before shutting the door completely.]

That's probably best for Luceti. Never know when some stranger will drop in on you. Literally.

[Sokka definitely nods to the first part. He definitely understands that whole part about space travel.]

Well it's good to know that Avatar World isn't the only place that's slightly more behind the times on that point.

[In the meanwhile, Sokka just feels kind of awkward waiting outside the restroom for Nel to change. But still, it also would kind of feel weird to abandon her now since he did technically invite her in.]

Yeah, I'll keep that reason in my head to never be naked again lest Luceti just drop someone directly into my room, even if the blinds are shut. [She won't see it, but he definitely rolls his eyes at that.]

Sooooo... by the looks of things, Luceti will likely be kind of different than when you... first got here.

Well, my planet was only one of many in our galaxy with lower technology. The federation that Fayt clung to so dearly has procedures to deal with planets like ours.

[Nel takes literally a few minutes to get dressed in her outfit, including her boots and scarf, feeling more like normal when she looks more like herself. She steps out of the bathroom and isn't surprised to see the boy still there.]

From what I could see on the roof, a lot has changed around here, yes.
