[Cliff must have read his mind, because he was tempted to suggest that himself.] Right. Let's head back then. We've got a couch, at least.

[Great minds and all that. For all of their differences, he and Fayt tended to have similar thoughts and ideas on a few topics. Not having to explain himself with every move was more refreshing than Fayt could imagine...]

It ain't anything too special...[He waved the two of them out the door.] But it's comfy. Just, uh, don't mind the projects.

[Like the little robotic vacuum that he was working on.]

And any glitter you might find. [He was still finding glitter in odd places.]

I.... I don't think I want to know. [That sounded like a story she was sure would be stupid and overly complicated and she seriously didn't think she could handle it with the mood that these two were already giving her.]

Lead the way.

[Atta girl. Cliff lead the way, shutting the door behind them.]

So. Uh. Anyway, we're gonna end up sharing some pretty weird stuff. Promise you won't hit us?

We haven't gone crazy, we promise. [Fayt follows Cliff out, grinning a little sardonically.] But it's pretty out there.

Don't take this the wrong way, guys, but just... spit it out, okay. I'll reserve judgment for later.

[aerialassault]

Well, alright then.

[Cliff lead them into the other apartment, and gestured at the messy sofa in a silent order to sit and get comfy.]

Nel, you know how we're from that place above the stars and all...?

[etherealblast]

[Fayt deciding to forgo a seat on the couch. She might want it more, anyway, with the discussion they were about to have. Instead, he leans against the wall.] That would be a good place to start, yeah.

[Cautiously, she moves into their living room, looking around as she takes a small perch on the couch and looking at the both.]

Yes, I seem to remember having to listen at a door to get that information. After Maria's arrival. What about it?

[etherealblast]

[....Yeah, that.... had been their bad. Grinning a bit sheepishly, he shrugs.] You said we'd just left Elicoor last you remember, right? Everything we're about to tell you is what happened after that.

[Yes, he remembered that moment. Vividly. A part of him still felt kinda bad for lying to her...]

Fayt knows more about it than I do too. You're not the only one here that's behind on the times, Nel.

[crimsonblade]

[What was done was done. Besides, after learning that truth, she could understand the lying. It was...a lot for any Elicoorian to take in the fact that they were dealing with beings from a different planet.

She looked between them before nodding and waiting.]

Alright. Whenever you're ready, Fayt.

[etherealblast]

[He pauses for a moment, gathering his thoughts.] When we left on the Diplo, we managed to find my father again. He gave us directions to a research center on Luna where he used to work, telling us we'd find the answers we needed there.... about Maria and I. [...And Sophia, but that would come later.]

[His lips thin. He's leaving out details, and he probably should feel guilty for it but.... that didn't affect Nel. He didn't want to talk about his father, didn't want to bring that up again.] On the way there, things started to get complicated. Strange beings had started to attack space stations, ships and planets. When we arrived, Moonbase was overrun with them. They were more powerful than anything we'd ever seen.

Not more of the Vendeeni that attacked Elicoor, I'm guessing. [Yes, she can tell that he's leaving things out, but she's okay with that. If it was important, she would know. It more than likely had to do with is father. And considering her own convoluted feelings and dealings with her father, she could understand that.]

It's a bit bigger and a bit more complicated than anything the Vendeeni brought on us.

...Think something along the lines of Existentialism and you might have a better idea.

[etherealblast]

Sort of, yeah. [For Fayt, the question of their existence was settled, but he wouldn't deny the issue was more complex than that.] The Vendeeni won't ever be a problem for Elicoor again. Last I heard, their planet was wiped out.

[He pauses again to let that sink in, before continuing.] The creatures were called 'Executioners'. But this is where the craziness comes in. We managed to get past them to land on Moonbase and located my dad's old lab, and a video file about his research that they'd left for us to find, passcoded to our genetic material.

[It made him wonder if his dad had already expected he might not be able to tell them himself.] The Executioners attacking our universe were sent by a person in another dimension, one that my father's team made contact with before I was born. It's another plane of existence, what he called the Fourth Dimension, or 4D space.

[She doesn't understand what Existentialism means, but she let's Fayt continue talking. She gathers that the Vendeeni are gone, which is something she'll be glad to share with Clair and Romilda once she gets home. But, the Executioners? Another dimension? 4D space?

It's a bit much and she holds out a hand to get him to stop for a minute so she can process it.]

Alright. So, let me see if I have this correct. Just... don't interrupt me. The Vendeeni are dead and we don't have to worry about them coming to steal the Sacred Orb or anything else again, right?

But they were small potatoes in regards to these Executioners you're talking about and the person in this...4D space? Right?

[aerialassault]

That sounds about right.

[Cliff crossed his arms, both an indication of his own contemplations and a silent declaration that these 4D people better not mess with his own. Unlike Fayt, he doesn't have the full information yet. While he trusts his friend...he has no idea if the timelines run straight between their own pathways. It was too complicated for his tastes, and why he didn't get into it.]

Yeah, that's right. These creatures were attacking tons of planets.... Even Elicoor, though those were smaller.

The reason my father and his team gave me, Maria and Sophia these powers was so we could get to the source of this problem and stop it. Sophia had been given the symbological power to get us there.

With the damage these things were doing, of course we had to head to Styx to try to stop it as fast as we could. Entire planets were getting wiped out. [As fast as they could, and with the sacrifice of many.....] ...A lot of people died to get us there.

[Commodore Wittcomb and the Aquaelie crew...]

[Nel has to take another moment to process it.]

So, the power you exhibited during the Vendeeni attack, that was what your father gave you? And Elicoor was attacked again? Did it come out okay?

[DETAILS, FAYT! GIVE HER MORE DETAILS!]

Things came out fine, as far as I know. It was fine, when we visited. Monsters got more violent, but none of the towns were breached. You were fine, too. You helped us during all of this, actually. You just haven't experienced it all yet.

[There were a lot of details to cover, he'd get to them all as he went.]

[She nods, feeling relief at hearing that her planet, her friends and country were fine in Fayt's future. Although, it was strange to hear him speak about it so casually.]

Alright, so what happened after you visited this...Moonbase, I believe you called it?

[etherealblast]

[He was speaking so calmly because so much more had happened. Nel needed to know exactly what happened, without dramatics. Especially since things got worse.

He didn't want to make this more crazy sounding for her than it already was.]

...We had to fight through a whole bunch of powerful monsters, but Sophia's power opened a gate to the fourth dimension when we got to the Time Gate on the planet Styx.

[He pauses.] What we found when we stepped out of the gate... it wasn't anything near what we expected.

[If he expected Nel to interrupt, he would be sadly mistaken. She was just waiting for the next bit of information, something that actually made sense, before she said anything else.]
